Red Flags

We know they're out there, here is what to watch out for.

Lack of transparency or clarity

If your questions are not being answered, or it seems someone is hiding something, chances are it's true. Agencies providing high quality care will be able to answer all of your questions, or get back to you with clear answers.

Are google reviews available?

Did you know that companies can disable their google reviews? Keep an eye out for public reviews and other parent opinions online.

*Keep in mind, there are some negative Nellies out there, but take a look at other peoples' experiences to see what clients are saying.

Bigger is not always better

You want to make sure that your child's well-being is the most important thing to your provider. Some large agencies are fantastic, but be aware that not all are (same goes for small ones).

Ask your other providers for opinions

If you currently receive any type of services, or your child attends school, ask them for their opinion on local agencies and professionals. They usually have a good sense of places to recommend or stay away from.

What to ask a provider when looking for services

We've put together a document that you can print and fill out when asking providers about what they offer.
